SDSailing.com Introduces New Management Team

SDSailing.com is pleased to announce a new management team:

Carl Hancock, Founder
Carl Hancock founded SDSailing.com in 1997 as an on-line magazine dedicated to sailboat racing in San Diego. Since then, SDSailing.com has become a valuable resource to visitors and locals alike. “My goal was to create a one-stop online shop for every sailor racing in San Diego,” said Carl. “I’m happy that we’ve been able to promote sailing by contributing to the sailing community through our support of local events.”

Carl is a San Diego native and an appellate attorney. He’s also a regular on the water who's been racing avidly for 15 years. Carl sails everything from big boats to remote-controlled models. If he’s not sailing a regatta, he’s probably photographing it. “Photography has been a great second outlet for me,” he said. SDSailing.com will continue to provide high-quality photographs from Carl and other contributing photographers.

Aimee Graham, Managing Editor
A native of San Diego, Aimee began sabot sailing in the summer program at age 8. The summer program ended, but sailing did not, and other boats were quickly added to the family fleet. When Aimee was 13, her father bought a McLaughlin snipe and began crewing for her. Aimee still regularly sails sabots (now in the senior ranks), snipes, and other one-design boats.

Aimee will contribute to SDSailing.com as the Managing Editor responsible for content and strategy. Aimee brings to the team years of business experience and a passion for small boat sailing. “The San Diego area has produced some exceptional people and fantastic sailors. I look forward to showcasing our community in this magazine.”

Steve Ross, Technical Director
Steve Ross has been a regular in the San Diego sailing community for over 20 years. Steve has broad experience in many parts of the marine industries; both professionally, as an industry sailmaker and retail professional as well as indulging his personal passion for racing. Steve will be contributing to SDSailing.com as our Technical Director.

“SDSailing.com provides a great opportunity for the San Diego sailing community to welcome traveling sailors,” said Steve. With his years of experience and personal relationships within the community, Steve will undoubtedly be a valuable resource to the SDSailing.com team.
